What is it?
It’s an “eye movement” therapy proven to help patients with PTSD, Trauma, and overcoming anxiety. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.
It sounds weird.
If you’re not familiar with EMDR, I can understand why some people are skeptical. However, this method has more published case reports and research to support it, than any other method used to treat trauma.
Many people have benefited from this therapy including Combat Veterans, Rape Victims, people with Panic Disorder and many more.
Is it for me?
As with any treatment, I need to make an initial assessment and learn more about the goals you have for therapy. If we believe EMDR is best for you, I’ll give you more information and talk it over including examples of techniques to make sure it feels comfortable to you.
